Hear me out
The washroom is where we do our best thinking. Neurologists say that’s because creativity depends on both dopamine release and a distraction from repetitive thinking. If you’ve ever taken a bathroom break at work so you could have five minutes to sit alone somewhere quiet, and you find yourself alone in front of a bathroom mirror, then you’ve probably given yourself a washroom-mirror-pep-talk. And if by chance you haven’t done this, give it a try. It looks and feels a little weird to talk to your reflection, but there’s really nothing abnormal about thinking out loud and taking a minute to center yourself, especially when no one’s watching.
